Escritor, argumentista e guionista americano (Worcester, Massachusets, 11.5.1919 - Hanover, New Hampshire, 19.11.2008) que se notabilizou pela sua colaboração com Alfred Hitchcock, nomeadamente em Rear Window (1954), pelo qual foi nomeado para os Óscares, e em To Catch a Thief (1955), The Trouble with Harry (1955) e The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956).
